Expected Project Outcomes

While it is difficult for any individual or group to fully foresee all the benefits and expected outcomes of this project, upon full implementation, the following outputs and services are expected to be available to all participating libraries:

1. A standardized national database for the holdings of libraries participating in the Unified Jordanian Index.
2. A search interface for the database in both Arabic and English, compliant with recognized international standards.
3. Advanced and efficient software enabling any participating library to search the index and supply it with bibliographic data from its own collections.
4. A directory of libraries participating in the Unified Jordanian Index, displaying all relevant information, contact details, and networking focal points.
5. Standardized agreements outlining the commitments, responsibilities, and technical deliverables for each participating library, including the responsibilities of the National Center for the Unified Jordanian Index.
6. A fully equipped, specialized training center to prepare trained technical cadres capable of fulfilling the index's requirements.
7. Standardized authority files that any library can use, with the ability to propose additions and modifications.
8. A policies and procedures manual for the preparation, development, and sustainability of the Unified Jordanian Index.
9. An interlibrary loan manual for libraries participating in the Unified Jordanian Index.
